Brackendale Together

A volunteer-led voice for Brackendale, working with neighbours to preserve our village character, protect the Eagle corridor, and ensure growth, transportation, and infrastructure decisions reflect the needs and values of local residents.

BOATA unites residents, owners, and tenants to share information, monitor local projects, and work with decision-makers so Brackendale stays livable, walkable, and environmentally healthy.

In 2026, BOATA is mobilizing in opposition to a proposed power line expansion through Brackendale intended to supply power to the Woodfibre LNG facility. We are calling on BC Hydro and Woodfibre LNG to return to their original 2015 plan — developed following consultation with the community and First Nations — to use the existing 500 kV transmission lines on the west side of the Squamish River, avoiding unnecessary impacts to our neighbourhood.

What’s Happening

We chose connecting the Woodfibre LNG facility to the existing 500 kV transmission line adjacent to their site as our leading alternative after hearing feedback from local communities and First Nations, and considering potential economic, social and environmental impacts.
